There will be no changes to your benefit structure and your benefits will be the same on July 1st as they were on June 30th.

Summary of the Fund’s prescription benefit:

  • The cap – or maximum annual drug benefit, for you and your eligible dependents – was increased from $10,000 to $12,500 per year on June 1, 2010.
  • Co-pays for a 34 day supply or less of a generic drug purchased at a local retail pharmacy is $5.00 and co-pays for a name-brand drug is $15.00. If the prescription is for more than a 34-day supply, the co-pay at a local retail pharmacy doubles to $10.00 for generic drugs and $30.00 for name-brand drugs.
  • A 90-day supply ordered through the voluntary Aetna mail order program is available to members for a single co-pay. The cost is $5.00 for generic and $15.00 for name-brand for a full 90-day supply, the same price as a 34-day supply purchased at a local retail pharmacy.

While the mail order program is voluntary, all members using “maintenance drugs” are encouraged to take advantage of the savings and convenience available through Aetna. Aetna has set up a dedicated customer service line for Local 237 members, you can reach them by calling 1 (855) 352-1599.
