The Local 237 Board of Trustees administers certain benefits available to you as a covered employee and a member of the Teamsters Local 237 Welfare Fund. These negotiated benefits are the result of collective bargaining agreements between Teamsters Local 237 and; the Department of Education, the Health and Hospitals Corporation, the NYC Housing Authority, and certain NYC Mayoral Agencies. The benefits provided by this Fund are paid for by contributions from your employer to the Fund on your behalf.

The Welfare Fund also administers:

Local 237's Education & Training Department enables members to develop skills to help them perform more effectively on the job, advance their careers and improve their quality of life. More than 2,000 members participate each year in classes to prepare for civil service exams, high school general equivalency diploma (GED) and college admissions.

*The Legal Services Plan has assisted thousands of active members and retirees with a variety of legal issues, including purchase and sale of a home, drawing up a will, domestic relations credit and consumer problems, tenants' rights and other matters not job-related. The Retiree Benefits Fund the Welfare Fund and Retiree Benefits Fund provides supplementary benefits to members, retirees and their families.
