A 14-year-old boy was arrested Friday when he brought a gun to his Brooklyn school.
After the principal of Leadership Prep Bedford Stuyvesant Charter School got a tip that student Shauquan Brown had a weapon, a school safety agent searched his bag and found an unloaded .22-caliber pistol and ammunition, cops and school officials said.
Police took the boy into custody about 9 a.m.
“We are grateful that everyone is safe,” said school spokeswoman Barbara Martinez.
Shauquan was charged with criminal possession of a firearm on school grounds, criminal possession of a loaded weapon and criminal possession of a defaced weapon.
He was questioned in the 79th Precinct stationhouse while 14-year-old Kahton Anderson was in custody in the same building after allegedly shooting a stranger on a B15 bus.
