HELL’S KITCHEN — A student was locked inside a school freezer by a trio of classmates who pulled out knives and threatened to kill him before blocking the door so others couldn't help, police said.

The 16-year-old victim was in class at Food and Finance High School at 525 W. 50th St., between 10th and 11th avenues, when he went into a freezer inside the classroom around 11:35 a.m. on May 6, the NYPD said.

One of his classmates then locked him inside, and that student and another started banging on the freezer with knives, stating, “I’m going to kill you,” police said.

After the teen assailants covered the freezer window with a T-shirt, another student blocked the door to prevent other classmates from helping the boy, the NYPD said.

The incident went on for about 10 minutes, according to police.

Three 16-year-old students were arrested in connection with the incident, and all three received desk appearance tickets.

Representatives for the high school did not respond to a request for comment regarding the incident.

“The safety and security of students and staff is our top priority," a Department of Education spokeswoman said. "The school followed protocol in responding to an incident that was reported and the students involved were disciplined appropriately."
