NYPD: Teen arrested with two loaded handguns in Clifton

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- An NYPD search warrant led to the arrest of a 17-year-old boy in Clifton Saturday morning, according to police.

The NYPD executed the search warrant at the 160 Park Hill Ave. apartment building in Clifton at 11:25 a.m., said a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

The 17-year-old was found to be in possession of a loaded 9MM Taurus pistol and a loaded Taurus .38 caliber revolver, police said.

He faces two counts of criminal possession of a loaded firearm, said a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

The NYPD does not release the identity of individuals younger than the age of 18.

The 120th Precinct touted the arrest on Twitter Saturday night.

“Great job by our Detective Squad getting these illegal firearms off our streets after a non fatal shooting,” the precinct wrote.

A day prior, an 18-year-old was shot inside the apartment building where the arrest occurred, the Advance/SILive.com reported. Police said there is currently no indication the incidents are related.
