Local 237  Call to Protect Union Jobs
Statement from President Gregory Floyd asking City to reconsider job cuts

New York, NY – International Brotherhood of Teamsters President Gregory Floyd issued a statement in reaction to Mayor Bloombergs’s preliminary budget proposal, urging the Administration to continue to work with unions instead of cutting tens of thousands of union jobs in one stroke.

“We will be working to make sure that the Mayor doesn’t balance the budget on the backs or working men and women. Like our predecessors, we will be coming to the table to examine the city’s budget woes, and we will see where we can be helpful,” said Mr. Floyd, who represents 24,000 workers.
