Mr. Sonera has been a member of Local 237 since 1988, as a Caretaker J. A solid union member, Mr. Sonera uses the following words to describe union membership:  FORCE, POWER, TOGETHERNESS and STRENGTH.

In his spare time, Mr. Sonera is a Volunteer Fireman in Mineola, NY. His family includes wife Maribel, who is a legal secretary; Sandy Jr., age 28 and daughter Ashley, age 23. Mr. Sonera is grateful that for 30 years of working for the City and being a member of Local 237. He has been able to take care of his family; send his children to college, pay all of his bills and take care of everyone’s medical needs.
