Ms. Edmonds-Smith has been a member of Local 237 for 10 years and is presently the acting shop steward. What she likes best about being a union member is knowing “people always have your back.” and feels she is a piece in a much bigger unit.

The best part of the job for Ms. Edmonds-Smith is the interactions with people. She listens to residents and co-workers and says, “I can be an ear or a voice for others.”        
                                                                                                           
Her favorite pastime is writing which she will do whenever she has a chance.  Ms. Edmonds-Smith has a 4-year old son.
