b"Is there anything else you would like to share? When Local 237 was opposite City Hall, there was a movie theater called The Tribune Theater underneath the unionhall. There was Nedicks. I could tell you everything that was on that block. When we went to the movies, they wouldnt letyou in the theater until the movie started. So, I went in Nedicks, have a hot dog and go to the union hall upstairs. I wasjust working for Housing then. There was a young guy with a yarmulke on his head. Everybody's walking by smackinghim in the head. He's rubber-stamping union cards. I was up there maybe two times a month, three times a month. Hisname happened to be Barry Feinstein. So, I go back with him before he was a lawyer, he was only going to school then. I just give him two weeks, three weeks pay or whatever goes on. And he was rubber stamping and everybody that passed him smacked him in the head as a joke, the new kid on the block. Barry and I really got along and couldnt say no to each other.I worked at a car dealership for a friend after retiring from Housing. I answered phones. He paid me well.In 1993 while I was still working EMS, I got a call from an old neighborhood friend, Robert De Niro. He was making ABronx Tale and asked me to be an extra. They called me Mackie. Mackie, we're putting something together. You interested?.I was to be the bookmaker. It was on location in Astoria. I was thinking, Im still working. How am I going to do this? I had somany annual leave days coming to me, vacation time, that they gave me five days a week off. Would you promise to come in Saturday and Sunday? That was the busy time. Yeah, of course. I was doing the movie and working.I had all my people;all my bosses come to location and watch Robert De Niro make a movie. With my personality the way it is, I could take over.I told people who to hire, who to fire, when to do certain things. I put in a thousand different ideas. They loved most of them.I consulted on how things should be done like what the actor should wear in the funeral scene, the real details. I used mymaintenance skills to make the lock click in one of the scenes.Bob knew everyone in the film. We had so much fun doingthe Bronx Tale, I would do it for free. I used to go home with pains in my stomach from laughing.I joined the Screen Actors Guild. I made 43 movies; I was background. I was in two features, but they were low lowlow low budget. I did 17 TV things. Background.Sometimes it's hovering, all voice overs and stuff.I don't need to do this. I got a good retirement with Teamsters and everything else. My wants arent there no more.I'm happy which is very important. I'm going to enjoy every minute I have. I like good food, good entertainment, good, good everything. What else is there in life?44 "
