ThenI went to Morris Houses and that's where I met the old man at 169th Street.I stayed there for three years. I worked withhim for almost a year and a half. He taught me everything. And then I went down to Red Hook for a few months. Then I went to Brevoort Houses in Brooklyn for another brief time, like four months or so. Then they had an opening in Vladeckand that's when I went to Vladeck. When I got there, they asked: You want to be resident maintenance man? I asked:What is it what does a resident consist of? They said: Well, youre going to get called we're going to give you cheaperrent, we're going to give you a free phone and but we could call you at night, and you're still going to get paid for nomatter if you come out, and do a flood, you're still going to get three hours pay, no matter if you stay an hour, but you'restill going to get it.So, I say: Ill take the resident. So, I moved my family. They asked: Which apartment you want? I says: Well, I have two boys and a girl. I'm gonna need three bedrooms. They told me, Take the five-room, fix it up theway you want to.So, in one month, I fixed the whole thing; I had guys come and do everything. That was the best apart-ment in Vladeck in 70 Gouverneur [Street, apartment number] 5-F, the best apartment. And I was resident there for a few years. I got that apartment in the 70s and then I got separated from my first wife in the 80s, in 1980. I was there forabout four years. I moved in 76. I stayed there for a little while more when my ex-wife was there and I left there in 88.Then I went to Straus Houses in 1988. I retired [from there] in 2009.You had family members who were working for the City, many of them for Housing. Were they also membersof Teamsters Local 237?Yes, yes, all three of them are. Danny, Larry, and Billy.
